Linn Svensson is a textile artist who mainly produces works in embroidery and quilt techniques. Her present practice centers around figuration and narrative, expressed through both drawings and conventional textile handicraft.
In her chosen mediums, she creates compositions portraying people in landscapes, cityscapes or desolate voids. Lately, she has produced artworks reflecting upon identity regarding roles one is ascribed to or ones that are chosen in the course of a lifetime. Both subject matter, materials and techniques are meant to impact the viewers interpretation of the artwork.
While born and raised outside of the city of Karlstad, Sweden, Linn currently lives in Oslo where she recently completed an MFA at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She also has a BFA of graphic arts from the same school and an academic master’s degree from Oslo Metropolitan University.
